Red Kite Carers Christmas Party

Updated: May 31, 2022

This year we celebrated Christmas with foster carers and children at Huntington Village Hall. It was wonderful way to celebrate all the hard work of 2021, prepare for the festive season and ceremoniously welcome the new year - all the while getting into the Christmas spirit!

At the beginning of the day, foster carers and their families arrived at the quiet countryside setting and began to chat about their plans for the festive season. The children got to together to play a competitive star-throwing game where points quickly tallied up and the winner, J, received a certificate for his incredible aim and for scoring the most points! Shortly after, everyone settled for a festive game of pass the parcel, followed by a creative session of gingerbread decoration.

Later, we all gathered for a cold buffet lunch consisting of a selection of sandwiches, quiches, crisps and cake. Hot drinks kept everyone warm throughout the chilly December day.

Lunch was followed by a surprise visit

from Mrs Claus who sat by the tree and handed out gifts to all the children, despite her terribly busy schedule!

The day concluded with the presentation of the carer awards and gifts to celebrate their dedication to providing genuine care and support to young people throughout the year. All of us at Red Kite would like to thank our carers for putting in the effort that makes such a positive and lasting difference to the lives of those that need it.

We at Red Kite Fostering wish all foster carers and families a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

If this sounds like something you'd like to be part of, or if you'd like to find out more about fostering, please get in touch.
